Al-Adesseh, Jerusalem

During summer 2011 Pie worked as part of a team of 14 international architects, urban designers and planners on a masterplan for 2500 Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem. The project was orgainsed by The International Peace and Cooperation Centre, the UN-HABITAT.

Our work within the studio focused on the development of a brief for a masterplan that supported a form of incremental urbanism, routed in the sensitivities of the landscape and existing community. We made large scale ‘experiential’ drawings of the site, recording the place in minute detail, and embedded ourselves within the local Palestinian culture.

The work was shown as part of an exhibition in December ’11 at the Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Design gallery at London Metropolitan University.
